More than half of computer users experience eye strain, dry eyes, headaches, blurred vision, itching, watery eyes, and sometimes double vision due to prolonged computer use. complains of fatigue and this condition also causes mental fatigue.

Sitting a lot in front of the computer causes "display syndrome". Eye pain, redness, soreness, tearing, forehead pain, rapid fatigue, and weakness when using a computer a lot is called "display syndrome".

All users who use a computer for more than 2 hours a day are candidates for this disease. This causes eye strain in people looking at computer screens.

What should you pay attention to when using a computer?

  • If glasses are needed, glasses should be used. Reflective coatings on the glasses provide comfort by reducing the penetration of UV wavelengths into the eyes.
  • When sitting at the computer, one should have an upright and comfortable sitting position. The chair should have a back support and be adjustable.
  • The brightness of the screen should be at a level that is most comfortable for a person.
  • The distance from the computer screen should be as far as you can comfortably see.
  • The distance between the eyes and the computer screen should not be closer than 60 cm.
  • Special exercises should be done so that the eyes do not get tired while working at the computer. The exercise is performed as follows: eyes are closed and opened for 3-5 seconds. The pupil is moved to the right, left, up and down. Gazes are directed away from the device monitor in a "disconnected" state. It is necessary to close the eyes and rest for 3-4 minutes.
  • It may be possible to squint at the screen to focus and see better. This condition increases the symptoms of eye diseases.
  • Moisture support with artificial eye drops is effective to prevent dry eyes.
  • Make sure to follow the 20-20-20 rule. It is recommended to look 20 meters away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. This technique supports the development of eye muscles. Allows you to take your eyes off the screen regularly. Thus, your eyes will have a chance to rest.
