Carbonated drinks are dangerous to health
Unfortunately, many people cannot stop themselves from consuming such drinks, especially in the summer season. Doctors advise to stay away from carbonated drinks as much as possible, at least in moderation.
Dietitian doctor Rabob Munjid explains the following about the dangers of consuming carbonated drinks and its effects on the human body:
* Consuming carbonated drinks deprives the stomach of salivary enzymes necessary for digestion.
* Due to the high content of caffeine in its composition, the heart beats faster.
* The high content of phosphorus salts in carbonated drinks causes bone loss.
* Excessive consumption causes memory loss and liver damage.
* There is no benefit to the human body from consuming carbonated drinks, but it contains artificial colors and preservatives that are harmful to health.
* Carbonated drink causes the absorption of calcium, which is necessary for bones.
* Due to its high sugar content and physiological calories, it causes weight gain and obesity.
* The caffeine contained in it ensures the absorption of iron in the human body, resulting in anemia.
Fizzy drinks often contain a lot of sugar and can lead to obesity, diabetes, tooth decay and osteoporosis if consumed in excess.
The main disadvantage of cola is that it is an extremely high-calorie drink. 330 milliliters of cola contains 35 grams of sugar. That's 9 teaspoons of sugar. Sugar is among carbohydrates that are quickly digested. Its consumption leads to obesity. It can also cause diabetes.
- They say that scientists have denied the connection between obesity and sugar consumption.
- Yes, there are several scientific works that deny the connection between sugar and the obesity epidemic. Their authors believe that the main cause of obesity is inactivity. However, it was recently revealed that the scientists who supported these views have close ties with the Coca Cola company. This destroys confidence in their scientific work.
So, how much cola can you drink without harming your health?
— It is recommended that simple carbohydrates make up 10 percent of the daily diet. This means that men can consume 9 teaspoons of sugar per day, women - 6 spoons, and children - 3 spoons of sugar. So, men can drink 1 can (330 milliliters), women - 1 glass (200 milliliters) of cola in one day. Since this is a one-day norm, it is also impossible to drink coffee and tea with sugar or eat sweets. Sweet drinks are not recommended for children.
