Do you like swimming?
Chlorine is used to kill germs and sterilize water in swimming pools (not only for swimming pools, but also for drinking water).
Although chlorine is proven to be harmful, chlorine is unfortunately widely used because it is cheaper than other alternatives.
Chlorine is easily absorbed through our skin, and if swallowed, it is dangerous for the beneficial bacteria in the stomach.
Prolonged exposure to chlorine can cause a number of diseases, especially the reproductive organs.
How can chlorine damage be reduced?
- Bathe in the sea (natural water bodies) as much as possible.
- It is necessary to choose that the pool is not disinfected with chlorine, but by other methods (M-n; special salt, ozone, chlorine dioxide, etc.)
-Choose a swimming pool where the amount of chlorine is constantly monitored, familiarize yourself with the amount of chlorine.
- Take a shower before entering the pool.
- Remove cream, perfume, make-up, etc., because they may react chemically with chlorine.
- Bathe wearing long clothes as much as possible and take a shower with your clothes on before bathing. Wet body, hair, clothes absorb less chlorine than dry.
-Take vitamin C before entering the pool. Vitamin C binds chlorine and reduces its damage.
- Be sure to use special swimming goggles. The most exposed organ to chlorine damage is the eyes.
-Use special protective lotions before swimming. If possible, use a lotion with vitamin C or mix vitamin C into the lotion.
- Spray the bathing suit with water containing vitamin C.
-Try to bathe in the pool for 30 minutes max.
-After leaving the pool, immediately take off your swimsuit and take a shower.
-Take a vitamin C bath. (Dissolve vitamin C in bath water.)
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Lugol's iodine has the property of protecting against chlorine damage. During vacations, make a habit of drinking a couple of drops (no more) of 2% Lugol's iodine mixed with a glass of water in the morning on an empty stomach.
(One or half a drop is enough for children. For half a drop, mix one drop in a glass of water and divide it into two. Pour more water over it, half a drop of water is ready.)
For those who practice swimming, the above recommendations are lacking. They need a special protective treatment under the supervision of a doctor.
Chlorine cleaners do more than just pool chlorine. That's why you should stay away from them! Do not use especially in the kitchen! Chlorine residues are not easily removed from containers.
For the health and future of yourself and your children, try to use other and harmless cleaning products from chlorine!
Get well!
